What To Do If Someone Is Stalking You (Part 1)
Being stalked is a frightening experience that leaves a person feeling terrorized and powerless.
If you think you are being stalked, you can take some steps to stay safe and build a case against your stalker. Always remember to call for Help if you feel you are in immediate danger, or you believe you are being followed. 1. Cease Communication. ● Avoid communicating with the stalker. A stalker’s behavior makes them feel they have power over you. Never respond or react to them. If you provide them with any reaction, they have successfully manipulated you into getting you to respond to them. ● Take all threats seriously. If the stalker has directly or indirectly threatened to harm you, believe them. Contact law enforcement immediately and make plans to be safe. ● Make changes to your technology. If your stalker had access to your phones, computers etc get new ones because the old ones may be infected with GPS tracking devices. Get a new email address and phone number.

This is really helpful information. Most people will simply describe stalking, you’ve gone further and informed us with steps how to prevent it. Thankyou.

You're welcome Leia
I know in the UK they have brought in a system so you can inform the police if you believe you are in immediate danger. After dialling 999, callers can then enter 55 to alert police there is an emergency, this allows people to report incidents without having to make a sound.
Unfortunately, this change was triggered by the death of a girl who made a silent 999 call in hopes she would receive assistance from police without angering her stalker. This call was taken as a hoax/accidental and she was killed that night.

Omg… that's so touching. It's so sad to know that a lot of people are dead as a result of stalking. But I'm glad that measures are been taken to put a stop to it.
Can I recommend neighborhood watch? In an ideal situation I think this is something that neighbors can Help each other with. Not instead of contacting emergency services, but in addition to.
As it happens, we, the group behind Savvity, is building an app and service meant to aid in starting and running neighborhood watch groups. In it, members can send alarms to their neighbors if there’s a burglary or if they are in some kind of danger. The app is free and available for both iOS and Android.

Carehood can be used for much more than neighborhood watch. Boat clubs, schools, dog walkers, joggers, families, search parties, parenting groups, business owners or any group with a common interest wanting to stay in touch.
